We know pretty well that no two students are created alike. Whether your taking Guitar, Bass, or Drums you will inevitably evolve into stylistic dispositions that need tailored curriculums to accomodate developments. The "cookie cutter" approach has time and again simply proven it is not the best or the most effective way to teach in the way of subject retention or simply having fun (a little spontaneity never hurts). A customized program will evolve for those who need it, and maybe not so  much for those who can deal with some rigidity. Either way, your gonna learn and your gonna like it ok?(just kidding).

Making headway is of course an important part of feeling somewhat accomplished. What might be ample progress for one person might be a snails pace for another. In order to give you the best results pertaining to this, you may want to evaluate your time to see if you have 20 to 60 minutes a day (or every other day) to practice. Some folks ask us "Well how do you do THAT?" Well as elementary as it sounds, its the real truth. There is absolutely no substitute for focused and sustained practice. In addition to practice, its also good to have progress tracking too. With every lesson we give our students detailed assignment sheets so they know exactly what they need to do for the next lesson.

Its not so much the quality of the playing of the teacher as much as it is their teaching skills that empower you. Someone may be a very impressive player, but may not be able to teach very well at the same time. Our patient, experienced and seasoned staff of professionals can answer just about any daunting question you may have and then some. With over 10 years of teaching experience and almost 30 years playing know-how, we can show you around the musicscape pretty well. So whether your interested in learning Rock, Jazz, Blues, or Country music, we have structured curriculums ranging from fundamental beginner levels all the way up to advanced degrees. in addtion, we can give you good advice on equipment deals, and where to go to find them as well (online and local). We can also mix it up so you can learn to play your favorite tunes while learning the ropes of theory as well.

At Second Floor Studios we believe that music goes beyond experience and becomes an integral part of our lives in subtle but powerful ways. Just like the diverse services we offer combine into a well rounded synergy, our Instructors are also well rounded in their approach to teaching as well. All of our Instructors are formally educated and have been teaching a long time (16years). We teach a wide range of musical styles from beginner to advanced and are seated within a network of world class teachers.
