Professional Tenor Vocalist

Tenor Patrick Anderson has been singing since the age of nine, when he started with the Treasure Valley Children’s Chorus in Ontario, OR.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in applied voice from Albertson College of Idaho (now College of Idaho) where he studied with Dr. Mari Jo Tynon.  Roles at Albertson included Tamino in The Magic Flute, Sasha in Fiddler on the Roof, and Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance.  He then returned as an alumni guest artist to sing Nelson Deadly in Edwin Penhorwood’s Too Many Sopranos.  After graduating from College of Idaho, he moved to Spokane, Washington, where he studied with Marjory Halvorson and sang in a workshop featuring baritone Thomas Hampson.  He was a two-year member of the Spokane Symphony Chorale singing repertoire spanning from Vivaldi, to Poulenc and John Williams, including chorus in a stage production of Rigoletto.  He was also a two year company member of Spokane Coeur D’Alene Opera, where performances included Gepetto and the Big Bad Wolf in John Davies’ opera Pinocchio, and performing in A Hot August Night and Diamonds and Divas New Year’s Gala for Spokane Coeur D’Alene Opera outreach.  Mainstage credits included Gastone in La Traviata, chorus in La Boheme, and preview artist for Don Pasquale. 

 

In the fall of 2006 Patrick entered into the Masters of Music in voice performance program at The Ohio State University.  There he studied with C. Patrick Woliver and Karen Peeler, and worked with stage director Peter Kozma.  Stage work included a variety of scenes in OSU Opera’s Scenes Showcase, Monostatos in The Magic Flute, Linfea in La Calisto, and understudying Nemorino in L’Elisir D’Amore.  In the summer of 2007 he traveled to Novafeltria, Italy to study music and Italian in La Musica Lirica summer program.  He sang the role of Normanno in Lucia di Lammermoor, understudied Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi), and sang chorus for Donizetti’s one-act opera Betly.  Patrick completed his Masters in June of 2008 and currently sings for Columbus State Community Chorus and Worthington United Methodist Church, as well as teaching for the Jefferson Academy at Ohio State.
