Located in the heart of Grandview Heights Ohio near the intersection of Grandview Ave and 3rd Ave, Second Floor Studios is near excellent Coffee Shops, First Class Italian Cuisine, and other convenient shops. We are proud to be part of the surrounding community. Having been in the Grandview area for nearly 5 years now, we have come to work with associations, local schools and other recreational programs to provide a supplemental understanding and appreciation for music and art. Our lead instructor Stu Johnson, has over 12 years of teaching experience and had played professionaly for 8 years preceding. Our curriculums are somewhat relaxed but powerful to fit each students individual goals and personal styles to supplement the learning process. In addtion to providing powerful group and one on one instruction, we also provide event services for weddings and similar functions in which entertainment is required. Acoustic and electric guitar and bass as well as drums are all taught right here in the studio. In addition to our robust teaching staff, we also offer top notch recording services as well. Our Lead Audio Engineer Dan Sutherland has worked with some of the most prominent producers and their celebrity counterparts. Learning Pro Tools has never been this easy! Welcome to our site! At SFS (Second Floor Studios) we have alot going on! We are glad to be celebrating another anniversary coming up in July. We offer a wide spectrum of services which include Professional Quality Instruction for all skill levels on Guitar, Bass, and Drums (Piano lessons are coming soon). In addition to our Music Instruction we also offer Instruction in Pro Audio Applications like Pro Tools, Reason, Cakewalk, Abelton Live and so on. All our Instructors are college educated and come from a background environment rich in experience and real world applications. We have heard it again and again but when people come in to take an Audio Instruction class, they always walk away feeling like they read 100 pages in a users manual in less than an hour! We cut right to the chase and tell you the things you need to know, and not the stuff you don't. To ensure a productive learning environment we also offer a free initial consultation with our Audio Instructor to see where you want to go, and what you want to accomplish with audio. Our Recording Studio is also state of the art complete with powerful applications and hardware. We believe strongly that you can have all the expensive tools, but if you don't know your stuff, your wasting your time and the customers time as well. Thats why our Audio Staff are all graduates from the Audio Institute in New York City and in addition have the real world knowledge and experience to help you achieve all your recording/project goals. We also work closely with several record labels and artists, and we are considered by may of them to be a great place to record. In addition to our top notch audio staff we also have strong connections with session musicians on just about every instrument. So if your project needs some musical support, we got it covered. Just ask and we'll get them in for you. They are all "at your service", and learn quickly. Our new DJ department for live events is also a nice addition. All of our DJ's are friendly, cooperative and professionals in their field. We can turn your party or event into something very special. Just give us a try and you'll see!
